New full-time trainer joining the Lowlanders Ski Racing team
It is with great pleasure we can announce we now have supplemented the trainer team with Grimur Runarsson for the coming season. Grimur is 44 years old has the last 3 years been national team coach for Iceland, has the highest trainer education in Norway and has been a ski trainer since 1995. Grimur has participated as coach in the World Ski Championships, the JSWC and different Olympic events.
We are very happy to welcome Grimur to our trainer team.
Also, we will increase the focus on dryland and we have made an agreement for the coming period with Mads Winther. Mads is 28 years old and is soon graduating with a MSc in Sport Sciences from Aarhus University and the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences. He is an experienced skier, ski instructor and has coached youth alpine skiers. Bastian Blaafalk will also help out on dryland. Bastian is educated as personal trainer, you know him as ski racer and he will from September be on an internship with the US Ski Association as a strength and conditioning coach.
We continue to support that we have an increasing and strong trainer team in the coming season. With head coach Eric Stappers plus Arjan Wanders and Grimur Runarsson we now have 3 full-time trainers and with increased dryland focus and also part-time trainers, we enter the season with a strong foundation.
More interesting projects are in pipeline and will be announced the next months.
We wish all welcome in the Lowlanders Ski Racing team.
More info will follow regarding plans for dryland as soon as possible.
Best ski wishes,
The Steering Committee
